Most people think of a web proxy when they go looking for proxies to use. A web proxy works like most proxy servers but there are some major differences between them. A web proxy should definitely not be used if you want to be anonymous online, but they do still have their use. A lack of anonymity and the inability to display a wide variety of media on websites are the two biggest issues with these kinds of proxies. If you are looking for a way to be anonymous while on the internet, then a web proxy is not what you need. The reason for this lie in the limitations and restrictions web proxies suffer from.
Web proxies are great for just casual internet use. This would limit the kind of things you do with them to just surfing websits and reading up on the latest news or other related general use. You may have also heard of myspace proxies, which are nothing more than web proxies branded under a different name. What you call a web proxy isn’t important, always remember that a web proxy is the most basic of proxy servers and you should limit the kind of activity you use them for. Some problems these proxies suffer from is a lack of anonymity and a limit on the kind of websites you can use with them. Some website features such as videos, javascript and cookies do not work with web proxies and this makes it impossible to visit a large number of sites. The kind of anonymity you get from them is also limited. Websites can easily detect when someone visiting their site is using a web proxy and this means that you aren’t really considered anonymous while using one.
An elite proxy, unlike a web proxy, do actually give you 100% internet anonymity. The IP they give you is undetectable as a proxy server IP and this makes it impossible for websites to detect that you are using a proxy server. There is no video, audio or text content that you can’t view and edit using an elite proxy. Video content will play perfectly, javascript functions perfectly and all the kinds of website features and functions you have grown accustomed to will work fine with an elite proxy. There are no major differences at all between your home computer and an elite proxy when it comes to using the internet.
If you are unsure as to whether or not you should use a web proxy or elite proxy, then only use a web proxy for the most basic and casual of internet use. This would be for things like casual website surfing and just other basic internet things where privacy isn’t important. For anyone who wants to login to sites, watch videos online and chat with their friends, nothing beats the kind of anonymity, security and speed of an elite proxy server. While you can get elite proxies from free proxy lists, I would recommend that you setup your own proxy server if you want the best level of security and speed you can get from a proxy server.
